By car from Groningen
From the ring road Groningen take the exit Winsum. Past Winsum (via the roundabout) to Warffum. You will pass a small house nestled in the landscape (the Brinta house) on the left and the De Breede hamlet on the right. Follow the signs for open air museum ‘Het Hoogeland’. The accommodation is located virtually adjacent to the museum.
By car from Appingedam
Take the N33 towards Eemshaven. Stay on this road until you see the sign to Warffum. You will pass the villages of Roodeschool, Uithuizermeden, Uithuizen and Usquert. In Warffum follow the signs for open air museum ‘Het Hoogeland’. The accommodation is located virtually adjacent to the museum.
By public transport
Take the slow train from Groningen to Roodeschool and disembark in Warffum. On week days the train runs every half hour and during weekends once per hour. From Warffum train station it’s only a couple of minutes’ walk to ‘Het Dorpslogement’. Exit the station towards the village, take a left and then take a right. Then follow the road until it verges to the right. Turn right here into the Oosterstraat. Meander along the terp until you see the old town hall on your right and ‘Het Dorpslogement’ on your left.
